The Netflix-produced “BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky”. A documentary about the journey of a talented four-piece girl group BLACKPINK. The story follows their path as they gain astonishing achievements and swiftly shoot to stardom as beloved global stars. Netflix wanted to showcase the documentary to press and fans alike and appointed us 9 days out from launch day to create the show of all shows.

A global online press conference and a fan event about the documentary was to be held on October 13 2020. The event was made more complicated as it was during the pandemic and a key requirement was for the 4 key stars to be appearing together live in a venue in Seoul, Korea.
The experience would be two fold, an initial press conference held amid the intense interest of about 300 media globally, with the presence of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and the participation of director Caroline Suh who would need to be streamed in from the USA, and the fan event which would no doubt attract millions of keen BLINKS (BLACKPINK Fans).

Both the global press event and global fan event exceeded expected attendance and viewership targets.

The live event garnered almost 2.1 million live viewers on Youtube, and were joined by another 1.95 million viewers on VLive, Korea’s leading fan streaming service. Via these channels, restreams and posts we landed with a staggering 90+ million impressions globally, post broadcast.

It has been applauded within Netflix as one of the largest viewership and most successful launch engagement by Netflix in APAC. As a team we are proud to be continuously engaged with Netflix on title launches, creative and strategic development and are delighted to be working with them ongoingly.
